It begs the question how much did Bowman really listen to those around him like Davidson or Norm Maciver?

It sure does make you think. I suspected it for a long time, especially Maciver as I didn't know KD until recently.

Usually when there is a 1-0 OT win the goalie gets mobbed. And that didn't really happen as far as I could see on that video. I hope it's just me being an idiot. I sure hope his mates don't think he's an ass.

Reichel didnt get a bonus? Wasnt there a rumor going around that he was played more than 10 games because he was promised bonus money?

His "bonus" was a year burned off his contract.

Performance-wise he had 1 assist in 11 games, a -8 +/-, 13:12 ATOI, 15 SOG and was killed at the FO dot winning 34.8% of the time.

I know, he's still only 19 so there is hope but, we may be entering Dylan Sikura territory soon.

New Jersey GM Tom Fitzgerald is willing to trade his early 2022 pick if they lose the lottery, but he is looking for a TJ Miller type acquisition for it.

But burning his one year of ELC doesnt matter. They still own his rights the same length as not burning this yr.
Reichel actually have one less yr now to prove himself worthy of a higher salary contract renewal

Anyone see that 3rd goal against in the Bolts Leafs game? Who knew Kampf was an elite skater and skated away from Hedman again.

In that case Murphy > Hedman. Smaller salary means easier to trade at TDL.

Well, his contract has three more years (with a M-NTC). Not sure what Stevie was thinking!

Yea it goes from Hedman losing a step, then mock because he scores 4 points in a game because that some how has something to do with a players speed, then when he looks like a glacier on the 3rd goal we compare him to Murphy, its not like Murphy can score for one.

Wouldn't hurt to call and inquire if any type of trade between the two teams is possible.

Would it be accurate to say one player may be more tired than another from skating, movement etc al during THEIR shift.and is beat in a skating play?
I don't know if Hedman is a tad slower skating or his acceleration is a tad slower this season after years of wear and tear. But I have to consider how involved in the play were both players during their entire shift

From your report it sounds like Kalynuk could be in the mix next year..

If you aren't secretly too concerned about exactly how bad the record could be next season, I say play the best players on defense. Even if it is supposedly too many kids at once. The LA Kings.did so down their playoff stretch. Thank you Tr Yawney for coaching expertise and working with the head coach + player personnel on the NHL roster- you made it work

Clearly we have seen or have reports how our young dmen have progressed this season. Through the first 20 or so gp next season it ought to become apparent these dmen should be playing NHL: Galvas, Kalynuk, Vlasic, Regula, Mitchell

Could happen? Theo please chime in your thoughts.

Kalynuk needs more time like Beaudin. The top 4 are Mitchell, Galvas, Regula, and Vlasic.

Phillips is ahead of Kalynuk, IMO, due to a better balance of being a puck mover and defender especially down low.

If Kalynuk can strike that balance, then he’d be a more viable NHL rearguard. Plus, his aggressiveness needs to be dialed down a bit as he gets into penalty trouble.

I’d suspect Mitchell will be the front-runner, but by no means a shoe-in. Galvan, Regula and Vlasic all played surprising well during their cups of coffee with the Hawks. Vlasic was particularly good, but for his long-term development he should be playing big minutes in Rockford next season.

Edit: Beaudin won’t be exempt from waivers next season (per Cap Friendly) so I wonder if he’ll figure into the Hawks plans to start the season. Beaudin hasn’t been great, but another team may claim him. I could see Beaudin dealt, or being added as a throw-in on a bigger deal.

I read the current HB Canucks blog about them letting go several scouts. The story mentions a scouting tool called Rinknet so I looked it up.

Here's the link:
https://www.rinknet.com/

Wonder if the Hawks use it or if Greenberg's charge is to implement something similar.

I believe this is a good analysis. For each of the player's development, their may even be a desire whom to pair with and even some consideration the five man unit. What situations will they not flounder in when they get next prolonged NHL stint.....so carefully manage all these prospects.

Your point about Beaudin is interesting too. Entering his next year as a pro he has become much stronger although perhaps still rather easily pushed off by stronger NHL players. Nonetheless he has definite skill to be drafted where he was and how he progresses could suddenly be a surprise some point next season - or later. Sometimes you have to keep grinding away and working to improve or neutralize an opponent defensively. Beaudin can see himself how abd why Galvas and Mitchell have been good. In turn down the line it MAY be possible Beaudin returns to the NHL ponds. Beegevin wanted him; remember? A former dman was obviously trying to see the finished product and like his skill/ strong points

It is all.about improving. Repetition and knowing what to do quickly without hesitating too long, for example, in puck retrieval and disbursement when an oncoming freight train is bearing down on them
